The Kids Are Home!!

What a busy week this has been! I have been running around from awards ceremonies, extracurricluar classes, watching kid's class presentations, graduations and more! I haven't had a moment to sit down and dedicate time to my Virtual Mamas out there! How has the week been for everyone? Hopefully not as hectic as mine.

The kids being out of school always brings me the main concern that work at home mama's have-how to work when the kids are home.  Lock them in a closet? Haha-no, there are ways around it all, but you just have to be willing to take/make the time to do them.
  • Work out co-op playdates with other moms. If you can get a group of let's say 4 moms, you can arrange a situation where each of the moms takes all of the kids 1 day per week, including you.  This gives you peace & quiet to work 4 days out of the week and your kids are with friends.
  • Look into summer camp.  There's nothing wrong with learning over the summer when it also incorporates exploration & discovery. Sure you will miss your munchkin, but it is an option.  For those not comfortable parting with little ones over night yet, there are plenty of day summer camps available where kids return home every night.
  • If you have flexible scheduing, try to work nights shifts (when kids are sleeping). Do you work for yourself? Utilize naptime and early mornings-whatever is flexible for you.
  • Do you have a significant other that is home on weekends? Consider working weekend shifts so you have built in day care!
There are so many ways that you can continue to work at home once the kids are on break, and I'm sure everyone would enjoy hearing about them so please feel free to share with fellow readers! =)
