Is "At Home" work RIGHT for me?

When asked about working from home, I always tell people that anyone can do it, but it must something that truly fits in line with your personality, interests, and lifestyle.  There really is something for everyone.

If you thrive off interaction with people, working at home on the computer is probably not for you.  There is a level of solidarity that one must be comfortable with when working from home without co-workers and customers. Think about employment where you will be dealing with the public. Maybe hosting home party sales, or phone work is more up your alley?

If you have little kids who are always home and loud animals, then phone work may not be for you. Most employers who offer telephone work from home, require that you portray a quiet business environment.  That means no crying babies, laughing kids or barking dosgs.  Think about writing, online work, or home parties where you go solo to your customers.  Anything that eliminates change in your household is easiest on your family. I personally got around this dilemma by working for a company on the east coast. This allowed me to start my work day 3 hours earlier, while the kiddos were still asleep, then wake and tend to them, and drive them to school on my lunch break. Once they were at school, I was able to finish my work day and I was done before half day kindergarten dismissal.

Play to your strengths! Do you have a way with words? A way with people?  Take time to choose a job that showcases your talents. Remember, work isn't work if you are doing something that you love.

Working from home is 100% about doing what works best for you, your family and your lifestyle.  There is an endless amount of jobs out there, and if you take the time to determine your needs and beforehand, you will save time and energy in your search. So before you start applying, take a look at your current situation and desires and look for employment that matches YOU.
